EVANESCENCE Singer Interviewed By Mexico's TERRA (Video)
August 11, 2011EVANESCENCE frontwoman Amy Lee was recently interviewed by Mexico's Terra. You can now watch the chat below.
A five-year drought ended for EVANESCENCE fans on Monday night (August 8) when the band performed its new single, "What You Want", live on MTV, with the song also heading to rock radio and iTunes at the same time. The track is taken from the band's upcoming third major label album, a self-titled affair due out on October 11.
Lee said that the hard-driving song was a "really natural choice" for a first single, adding, "It's kind of about coming back in some ways: it's about the fans, it's about this EVANESCENCE renaissance that we're having, and I think it makes sense."
Until now, EVANESCENCE has only performed live twice since 2007 and Lee told The Pulse Of Radio that both times were a good indicator for how she feels about playing live again. "It's like I forget that I'm that other character," she said. "It's like, 'Wow, I've got to put the boots on and be her again. I'm not really sure if I remember how.' But as soon as I stepped onto the stage, it just took me over and felt right."
The new record is the band's first since 2006's "The Open Door".
EVANESCENCE will play Nashville on August 17 and Winnipeg, Canada on August 20, but will kick off a 15-city North American run on October 10 in Oakland, California.
The current lineup of EVANESCENCE features guitarists Terry Balsamo and Troy McLawhorn, bassist Tim McCord and drummer Will Hunt in addition to Lee.
